Whether you came here out of curiosity, a sense of belonging, or just stumbled across us, we hope what you find leaves you informed, uplifted, and entertained.
This website grew out of something small and personal. Back in 2014, we put together what became the first online Kaaps Afrikaans (Afrikaaps) slang dictionary, hosted on a humble Blogspot page. The original idea was to give the language its flowers, not just as something spoken in homes and on street corners, but as something alive in film, music, and literature. That seed took root. Over the years, the vision grew into something far richer: a dedicated digital space that puts the so-called “Coloured excellence” front and centre, in business, education, sport, creativity, leadership, and community.
We are especially drawn to the Cape Flats, its stories, its people, its grit, and the deep cultural heritage that so often gets overlooked or misrepresented. This magazine was founded to change that. The achievements celebrated here do not always make headlines. But they are real, and they matter. We think they deserve to be told with honesty, pride, and dignity.

Cape Coloured Culture is bound by the Code of Ethics and Conduct for South African Print and Online Media. This means everything we publish is held to the standard of being truthful, accurate, fair, and balanced — values that align naturally with who we are and what we stand for.
If you feel we have fallen short of that standard, you have the right to raise it. Any complaints relating to published content must be directed to the Press Council’s Public Advocate within 20 days of the original publication date.
