Are you waiting to hear back about your housing application? The City of Cape Town makes it easy to check your status online. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you through the process.

 

Step 1: Access the Housing Portal

Begin by visiting the City of Cape Town’s housing portal. Once there:

 

  • Enter your ID number.
  • Fill in the captcha code to verify you’re not a robot.
  • Click the Next button to proceed.

 

Step 2: Verify Your Identity with an OTP

If your ID is recognised in the housing database:

 

  • You will receive a One-Time Pin (OTP) via SMS on the cellphone number you used during registration.
  • Enter the OTP in the designated box.

 

Important: If your cell phone number has changed, you’ll need to update your contact information before continuing. Visit your nearest City-run housing office or call the housing hotline at 021 444 0333 for assistance.

 

Step 3: View and Update Your Details

After successfully entering your OTP:

 

  • The system will display the information the City has on record for you.
  • You can now check the status of your application.
  • If necessary, update your details on the portal.
  • Once you’ve made any necessary changes, click the Submit button to confirm.
