Cape Town Pride Month is dedicated to the people who make our community whole. From the first week to the last, the city hosts various spaces for us to meet and celebrate. By following the theme, #IAmBecauseWeAre, we honour the bonds that keep us resilient and united. These events offer a mixture of social, cultural, and advocacy-based activities for everyone. You might find yourself at a small gathering in a local cafe or part of the march through the streets. Each day during Cape Town Pride Month provides an opportunity to reflect on our journey and the rights we hold dear. We compiled a list of events so you can engage with the festival on your own terms.

Practical Information

Most events are ticketed through Quicket or require registration, with prices ranging from free to around R250. Many venues offer free entry, particularly for community-focused events. Popular parties and limited-capacity events sell out quickly, so book early.

The festival is spread across Cape Town’s most LGBTQIA+-friendly neighbourhoods—particularly the Waterkant, Green Point, and the City Centre. The city is relatively Pride-friendly year-round, but during February, rainbow flags are everywhere.
