On Saturday, 22 August 2026, Sarepta Community Hall became the setting for the Mr & Miss LGBT Cape Peninsula 2026 pageant, where Jiyaad Dreyden and Sheeza Star walked away with the titles and the crowns that came with them.
The evening brought together pageantry, performance and plenty of Pride spirit, with the spotlight firmly on the talent, confidence and individuality that make the LGBTQIA+ community so vibrant.
The night was hosted by Lance Soldaat and Shuvandre Anastacia Rodriguez. Lance brought his trademark energy and personality to the stage, while Shuvandre added the poise and presence that have made her a familiar face in the pageant world. Together, they kept the audience entertained while guiding the event towards its big crowning moment.
Entertainment was also a major part of the celebrations, with performances from three artists connected to the House of Vahlour and the wider queer entertainment scene.
BB Vahlour, the matriarch of the House of Vahlour, brought her commanding presence to the stage. Known for her artistry and contribution to queer talent, she added plenty of personality to the evening.
Sky Vahlour followed with a high-energy performance that kept the audience engaged, while Caylin Duiker brought a different sound to the programme with her soulful vocals.
With pageantry, live entertainment and community pride coming together under one roof, the evening gave audiences plenty to celebrate.
For Dreyden and Star, however, the biggest moment came when their names were announced as the new Mr and Miss LGBT Cape Peninsula 2026.
Their new titles place them at the forefront of the organisation’s work and give them an opportunity to represent the LGBT Cape Peninsula community throughout the year.
Congratulations to Jiyaad Dreyden and Sheeza Star on their new crowns. Here is to a year filled with representation, visibility and moments that make the community proud.
