Plot Summary:

Cape Town, 1960s. Abraham is just a kid when he gets thrown in prison for a petty crime. Inside, survival isn’t just about fists—it’s about respect. And respect is what Abraham earns when his gift for spinning stories turns hardened criminals into an audience hanging on his every word. While he distracts the inmates with tales of other worlds, his childhood best friend finds himself trapped in a brutal arrangement with a gang boss.

Freedom doesn’t come easy, but when Abraham gets out, he’s ready to leave the past behind. He falls back into the arms of his first love and dreams of becoming a writer. But the streets he grew up on won’t let go so easily. His old friends pull him into something darker—a murder that none of them are ready for. Now, with the shadow of the gallows over their heads, Abraham’s only way out might be the very stories that once saved him.
