The Suidooster Cast: Who Is Most Likely To….?

The Suidooster cast is basically extended family at this point. We’ve spent ten seasons in Ruiterbosch, and built a whole culture around it. You know the characters’ voices so well, you could recognise them in the street. Your neighbour who doesn’t have DStv pops in at 6pm. Potatoes are peeled and laundry folded in front of the TV. Two aunties in a taxi will break down the latest storyline. 

 

The show follows three families—the Octobers, the Samsodiens, and the Du Plooys—who wys us that nothing is ever simple when business and family mix.

 

With legends like Denise Richards and Cedwyn Joel and fan favourites like Theodore Jantjies and Irshaad Allie, this show has given us characters we love, characters we love to hate, and characters who make us want to chuck the remote at the TV (but we don’t, because, kyk’ie TVs are expensive mos).

The one who’s still skinnering with a cousin or neighbour at the door while everyone’s already in the car, ready to head home. That person is Mymoena Samsodien. Played by the Jill Levenburg, Mymoena’s a woman who values family and can’t get enough of a good catch-up.

 

Be The Boss Of The 28s Gang — Ian October

 

 

If there’s one thing Ian October (played by Abduraghmaan Adams) had, it was ambition. His on-screen presence made many viewers’ bors warm. This ou was always scheming, always in trouble, and yet somehow manages to get away with it all. If you ever needed a leader for the Number gang, Ian would be the man for the job. He’s got the charisma, the shady business sense, and enough courage (or is it recklessness?) to lead the Americans.

 

Drive The Latest VW Polo — Rhafiek Samsodien

 

 

Let’s talk cars, because when you think of Rhafiek Samsodien, you can’t help but picture him behind the wheel of the latest Volkswagen Polo. Rhafiek’s giving us metro-man vibes, and we reckon he’d be all about showing off the latest U-Dubs Polo. In real life, Irshaad Ally (the actor who plays Rhafiek) might eintlik be more of an SUV guy, according to his social media.

 

Delete Herself From The Family Whatsapp Group If There’s Drama — Lee-Ann Jacobs

 

Lee-Ann Jacobs, played by Portia Joel, isn’t someone who’s afraid of drama—she just stays out of it. After years of keeping her distance, Lee-Ann has been trying to find her place in the Ruiterbosch community, especially now that she’s working with her sister at Jacobs Property Developers. She always does the right thing and stays true to herself — which, let’s face it, makes her the ideal candidate to keep away from any unnecessary family politics.

 

Not Eat Just Anybody’s Food  — Bridgette Jacobs

 

 

Coloured people have a proverb that goes like this: “ek iet’ie ienigeiemand se kos’ie” (I don’t eat just anybody’s food.” If you’ve ever had that one friend or relative who turns their nose up at any dyte that isn’t prepared by a top chef or themselves, then you’ve met Bridgette Jacobs.

Bridgette, played by the iconic Denise Newman, has made a name for herself as a woman who does things her way. And while she’s been through plenty – including a rocky relationship with Ian October – she’s still got that sharp edge and strong opinions that make her one of the most memorable characters of the Suidooster cast.

Wade Daniels (Dean Smith) might not have started out with much, but he made something of himself. From a guy with no direction to a man with ambition, Wade has slowly but surely found his footing in Ruiterbosch, and we think if he wants to help someone land a job, he’ll tell you straight — “Send me your CV, and I’ll sort you out.” He’s the embodiment of dala what you must to get where you want to be.

 

Put “Happy Fathers Day To Me” On Her Whatsapp Status  — Bianca Fourie

 

Bianca’s the kind of person who’d post a “Happy Father’s Day” to herself just to let everyone know she’s holding things down. Played by Simone Biscombe, she’s a survivor of tough times, including her battle with addiction, Bianca keeps her head high no matter the setbacks. Life hasn’t been easy for her, but she’s stronger for it.

 

Sell you a stolen cell phone — Nazeem Jacobs

 

 

Nazeem Jacobs, played by Irvine van der Merwe, has got his fingers in every shady pie in —loan sharking, selling illegal substances, and hustling his way through life. If a tikkop robs you of your phone, don’t be surprised if Nazeem’s the one who they’ll be selling it to. He’s the kind of guy you don’t trust, but also the kind who can convince you that his schemes aren’t as bad as they seem.

 

Be Your Bra Tot Laat Toe — Jerome October 

 

Played by Danny Ross, Jerome was the ladies’ man with the ability to charm anyone who crossed his path. If he didn’t like you, he wouldn’t pretend, and if he was your mate, you could count on him. Jerome wasn’t here for anyone’s approval, and his carefree spirit and easy-going attitude made him a fan favourite. Which is why his tragic death left a hole in the hearts of Suidooster fans.

 

Revv His Car For Attention In The Street — Ty Daniels

 

A mechanic by trade, Ty’s also got a bit of an ego and we think he’d love to attract the attention of mooi kinnes in the street by revving his car. He’s cocky, but not in an overly nasty way. Ty, played by Maurice Paige, knows he’s got a good thing going, and he’s going to make sure you notice.

 

Greet You With A Friendly Hoot When He Drives Past – Ab Samsodien

 

 

AB Samsodien (Cedwyn Joel) knew his place in the world. He was a loving husband, father, and Ruiterbosch’s reliable pharmacist. AB was always quick with a kind word or a piece of advice, and his strong moral compass made him a role model in the community. You wouldn’t have caught AB getting involved in drama or stirring up trouble — he was the type that would greet you with a friendly hoot from his car as he drives past.

 

Wait And Hold The Door For You— Siya Thuli

 

Fo us, Siya (played by Gantane Kusch) is that charming friend who remembers birthdays, says “please” and “thank you,” and makes sure everyone feels valued in his presence.

 

Be Seen At Spur With An Older Woman — Gary Booysen

 

 

Gary Booysen (Craig Adriaanse) is living lekka on his own terms – and could be someone’s “Ben Ten.” If you’re not familiar, a “Ben Ten” is a young ou who’s dating an older woman. And so ampertjies, Gary became one of these – thanks to the secretive and ambitious Imelda.

 

Slide Into Your Man’s DMs — Danni Hendricks

 

Danni (played by Vashti Prins) is a heartbreaker, but not in the typical way. She’s complicated, messy, and definitely not afraid to go after what she wants. Whether it’s Justin, Tim, or Siya, Danni’s got a way of making men fall for her. But at the same time, she’s just as likely to move on when the next best thing comes along.

 

Be A Wallflower In The Club —  Aiden Booysen

 

 

Aiden Booysen (played by Theodore Jantjies) is the quiet guy in the jol who doesn’t say much but always manages to attract attention. While everyone else is dancing or chatting, Aiden’s in the corner, minding his business, but somehow, all the girls want to know who he is. Aiden has that understating charm and warmth that shows you don’t need to be the life of the party to have charisma. 

 

Have 20,000 Followers On Tiktok — Zoe October

 

Zoe October (Lauren Joseph) is a woman with a voice. She knows how to rek her bek, and in the age of social media, she’s definitely the one to post a couple of spicy opinions on her TikTok account. Whether it’s about fitness, life, or the latest drama, Zoe’s not afraid to speak up. And jy moet dit glo, when she speaks, people listen.

 

Make the best koesisters — Mrs J

 

Lastly, we’ve got Mrs J, the matriarch of the entire Samsodien family. No one in Ruiterbosch can bake quite like her. She’s the one you turn to when you need a little TLC, and there’s nothing she won’t do for her children – blood or not. From baking the best milk tart to being the voice of reason, Mrs J is one of the central figures in the Suidooster universe.
