Miss Pestova, fondly known as the “people’s pageant” in Cape Town’s LGBTQ+ community, has crowned its 2026 winner!
Created in memory of the late Daniella Pestova, the annual pageant celebrates Cape Town’s LGBTQIA+, drag and ally community. It gives first-time performers and emerging drag artists a playful stage for self-expression, creativity and plenty of personality.
Miss Pestova welcomes contestants who have never held a queen or princess title, with a special focus on newcomers entering the world of drag. Every body type and gender expression is welcome, making the pageant a space for fresh faces to experiment with drag artistry.
This year’s theme was “Beauty in Black” and the pageant took place at the Kensington Civic Centre. Drag trio 3Divas kept the crowd entertained throughout the evening.
Miss Dee Tention was crowned Miss Pestova 2026.
Cay Le Fay took home the Miss Personality title along with the 1st Princess crown.
Congratulations to the 2026 royalty. May your reign inspire every newcomer to take the stage, own their individuality and give their creativity a voice.
