Cape Town City FC home and away kits bring a fresh look to the club’s 10th anniversary season

Cape Town City FC has marked its 10th anniversary with a new away kit that takes the club in a noticeably different visual direction. Produced by Umbro, the 2026/27 strip swaps the familiar blue associated with the Citizens for a pale mint green, giving the Cape Town City home and away kit collection a more contemporary feel.

The colour choice is arguably the first thing supporters will notice. Rather than using the away shirt as a simple contrast to the home strip, Umbro has given it an identity of its own, with tonal graphics running across the shirt to create texture without overpowering the base colour.

The pattern combines fine vertical elements with abstract contour-like shapes, giving the shirt more depth when viewed up close. Dark green details around the collar and cuffs sharpen the otherwise soft colour palette, while the club crest, Umbro logo and SportPesa branding follow the same restrained green treatment.

There is also a functional element to the design. Perforated sections across parts of the shirt are intended to improve airflow, keeping the visual treatment from being purely decorative.

The most obvious anniversary reference comes through the circular badge positioned close to the lower hem. Marked 2016-2026, it gives the shirt a direct connection to the decade the club has completed.

The full away strip continues the mint green colour across the shorts and socks, with darker green trim tying the three pieces together.

For Cape Town City, the new shirt also says something about how the club has developed visually since its formation in 2016. The home colours remain central to its identity, but the away kit allows Umbro to experiment with a palette that feels distinctly different without losing the club’s visual character.

What their new home kit looks like

The home shirt takes a more traditional route, retaining Cape Town City’s royal blue as its dominant colour while introducing a prominent yellow band across the chest. The combination gives the jersey a classic football appearance and creates a much stronger contrast than the new away strip.

Yellow also appears around the collar and neckline, while subtle horizontal texturing across the blue fabric adds detail without competing with the chest band. The club crest, Umbro branding and SportPesa sponsorship sit within the blue and yellow colour scheme.

Together, the two designs create a clear contrast within the Cape Town City home and away kit range. The home jersey leans into the colours supporters immediately associate with the club, while the away shirt uses mint green, tonal graphics and dark green accents to create something considerably more modern.

The anniversary theme runs through the wider 2026/27 kit collection, making the shirts more than a routine seasonal change. The designs acknowledge the club’s first decade while giving Umbro room to interpret its identity differently across the home and away jerseys.
